Pet Care Services Client Agreement
Thank you for trusting Wags and Walks with your pets! The safety, comfort, and well-being of every animal in our care is our highest priority. Please review the following policies before booking services.
By requesting and accepting services, the client agrees to the policies below.
All services must be scheduled in advance.
A booking is considered confirmed only after Wags and Walks has confirmed the requested date and time.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate scheduling requests, but availability is not guaranteed until the booking has been confirmed.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate:
Contact information
Pet information
Service dates
Service instructions
Home/access information
Emergency contact information
Veterinary information
Recurring services may be scheduled based on availability.
A meet-and-greet may be required before the first service, particularly for:
New clients
Pet sitting
Multiple pets
Group walks
Pets with special care requirements
Pets with behavioral concerns
The meet-and-greet allows us to learn about the pet's routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, walking habits, and any special instructions.
Group-walk participants must complete a meet-and-greet before participating.
Clients must provide complete and accurate information about their pets.
This includes, when applicable:
Name and age
Breed/species
Feeding instructions
Medication instructions
Allergies
Medical conditions
Behavioral concerns
Fear or anxiety triggers
Leash behavior
Escape tendencies
History of aggression or biting
Interactions with other animals
Emergency instructions
Failure to disclose information that could affect the safety of the pet, caregiver, or other animals may result in cancellation of services.
The safety of your pet is our priority.
Pets must be secured appropriately before and after visits. Dogs receiving walking services must have a properly fitted collar or harness and a secure leash.
For group walks, dogs must be reasonably comfortable around other dogs and able to safely participate in a group environment.
We reserve the right to end or modify a service if an animal's behavior creates an unsafe situation.
If necessary, we may recommend private walks or individual care instead of group services.
Clients are responsible for providing safe and reliable access to the property.
Acceptable access methods may include:
Lockbox
Key
Garage/access code
Client-provided entry instructions
Keys or access information will be handled responsibly and used only for the scheduled service.
Clients should notify us immediately if access information changes.
If we are unable to safely access the home, the visit may be delayed or cancelled and the client may still be responsible for the scheduled service fee.
Pets will be cared for according to the instructions provided by the client.
Routine care may include:
Feeding
Fresh water
Treats provided by the owner
Potty breaks
Litter box care
Playtime
Exercise
Companionship
Basic cleanup
Basic home checks
We will make reasonable efforts to follow all written instructions provided by the client.
Medication administration must be discussed before the service begins.
We may administer basic medications that we are comfortable and appropriately instructed to provide, such as certain oral or topical medications.
Medication must be:
Clearly labeled
In its original container when possible
Provided with clear instructions
Given in the prescribed dosage
We do not diagnose illnesses, change medication dosages, or provide veterinary medical advice.
If a pet appears seriously ill or injured, the emergency procedures below will apply.
If a pet becomes sick, injured, escapes, or experiences another emergency while in our care, we will attempt to:
Contact the owner.
Contact the emergency contact if the owner cannot be reached.
Contact the pet's veterinarian when appropriate.
Seek emergency veterinary care when reasonably necessary to protect the animal's health or safety.
The client authorizes us to seek emergency veterinary assistance when reasonably necessary if the client or emergency contact cannot be reached.
The client is responsible for veterinary, medical, transportation, and other emergency expenses associated with their pet.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the owner throughout an emergency.

Payment is due before service or at the time of service.

Services outside the normal service area
Clients will be informed of additional charges whenever reasonably possible before they are incurred.
We understand that plans can change.
Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled service may be cancelled without a cancellation fee.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service may be subject to a $15 cancellation fee.
If a client is unavailable or prevents the scheduled service from being completed without providing adequate notice, the full service fee may apply.
For extended pet sitting or holiday bookings, a different cancellation policy may apply.
Holiday and high-demand dates may have an additional fee.
Holiday pricing will be communicated to the client before the booking is confirmed.
Examples may include:

Christmas
New Year's
Independence Day
Memorial Day
Labor Day
Services are scheduled for a specific amount of time.
If a client requests additional time or if additional care is reasonably necessary, additional charges may apply.
For example:
30-minute visit: $15
60-minute visit: $25
Additional time will be discussed with the client whenever reasonably possible.
Group walks are designed to provide safe socialization and enrichment.
For the safety of all participating dogs:
A meet-and-greet is required.
Dogs must be reasonably comfortable around other dogs.
Dogs must be safely leashed.
Dogs displaying significant aggression, severe fear, or unpredictable behavior may not participate.
Group sizes may be limited.
We may remove a dog from a group walk if the environment becomes unsafe.
A private walk may be recommended instead.
Additional-pet fees may apply depending on the number and type of animals requiring care.
Clients must disclose all animals that require care during the booking.
This includes animals that may not normally be considered pets, such as:
Fish
Birds
Reptiles
Small mammals
Chickens
Livestock
Horses
Specialized farm or animal care may require a separate quote.
Farm and animal care services must be discussed before booking.
Clients are responsible for providing:
Feeding instructions
Watering instructions
Animal handling instructions
Equipment instructions
Safety information
Emergency contacts
Any known animal behavioral concerns
We may decline tasks that require specialized training, equipment, or handling beyond our experience.
Basic home checks may be included with certain services.
These may include:
Checking doors
Checking for obvious water leaks
Bringing in packages
Adjusting lights/blinds as requested
Checking that the home appears secure
Taking out pet-related waste
We do not provide professional cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, or repair services unless specifically agreed upon.
Clients may receive photo or message updates during services.
Photos are intended to provide updates about the pet and may be used for business/social media purposes only with the client's permission.
Clients may choose:

Client information, home access information, and pet information will be treated as private and used only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested services.
We will not intentionally share private client information with unrelated third parties except when necessary for an emergency, required by law, or otherwise authorized by the client.
For the safety of the client, pets, caregiver, and others, Wags and Walks reserves the right to decline, modify, or discontinue services when circumstances make the requested service unsafe or inappropriate.
This may include:
Aggressive behavior
Unsafe home conditions
Dangerous animals
Lack of required supplies
Repeated failure to provide accurate information
Unsafe walking conditions
Unreasonable or inappropriate requests
Whenever possible, the client will be notified before services are discontinued.
The client agrees to:
Provide accurate information.
Provide necessary food, medications, leashes, litter, and supplies.
Inform us of medical or behavioral concerns.
Provide safe access to the home.
Keep contact information current.
Pay for services and approved additional expenses.
Follow the booking and cancellation policies.
Notify us of changes to their pet's condition or routine.
Pet care involves inherent risks, including but not limited to illness, injury, escape, interactions with other animals, and property damage.
We will take reasonable precautions to provide safe and responsible care.
The client understands that no caregiver can completely eliminate the risks associated with caring for animals.
By booking services with Wags and Walks, the client acknowledges that they have read and agree to the policies above.
